1 Workshop for Establishing an International Collaboration Platform for Smallholders, Family Farmers and Agricultural Producer Organisations in OIC Member Countries TRADE STATISTICS

2 Introduction Aim of the project: Establish a basis for collaboration and international trade among family holders and agricultural organisations located in OIC Member countries. Many OIC Member Countries with wide diversity of agricultural production Priority is given to mostly traded agri-food products in OIC member countries. Identifying mostly traded products and countries that mostly produce or consume them will be the starting point

3 Methodology Comtrade Database of United Nations is used Agri-food products: 24 groups in 2 digit HS, 202 groups in 4 digit HS. Since analysing 202 product groups will require too much effort and the outcomes will be very detailed, it is decided to conduct the analysis at 2 digit level. Annual trade values for the most recent year (2014) are taken into consideration. For some countries 2013 or 2012 figures were used.

5 Share in the World Trade Share of OIC countries in the global trade of agri-food products is 11% of the global trade of these products. Total annual agri-food exports: 132 billion USD Total annual agri-food imports: 186 billion USD. OIC members are net importers of agri-food products.
