1 In This Session This hands-on session is targeted for developers who want to build extensive and customized dashboards for desktop and mobile consumption. Throughout the exercises, the user will learn the layout and basic components and scripting involved in developing within SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio, and will: Create interactive BI applications Build extensive customized dashboards for desktop and mobile devices Learn tips for using complex scripts to access data from multiple sources Explore advanced layout design using custom stylesheets and CSS code

9 Design Studio Training Exercises Basic 1 Exercise Introduction – Tab strips with multiple tabs and different chart types with titles and labels, crosstabs Basic 2 Exercise Adding multiple data sources, setting filters using scripts, allowing selections on crosstabs to drill down It is recommended to complete each exercise sequentially in order to fully understand the material.

10 Design Studio Training Exercises Intermediate 1 Exercise Creating complex scripts to load data on startup along with formatting measures with scaling and decimal places Intermediate 2 Exercise Creating a link to a WebI document and passing selected information from the application to the report It is recommended to complete each exercise sequentially in order to fully understand the material.

11 Design Studio Training Exercises Advanced 1 Exercise Setting up cascading filters, using a filter panel, creating a reset and Launchpad button, and adding a logo to your application It is recommended to complete each exercise sequentially in order to fully understand the material. Advanced 2 Exercise Creating a custom gauge and scorecard using BEx queries, custom CSS and scripting. You will also add a footer to display important information

12 Design Studio Training Exercises Advanced 3 Exercise Utilizing the desktop template provided by Design Studio to quickly filter, add and remove dimensions and display data It is recommended to complete each exercise sequentially in order to fully understand the material. Advanced 4 Exercise Using the mobile template for iPad devices and learning how to deploy the application to be viewed on your mobile device
