18 Goals of Executive Committee Re-define our mission and vision Active input from all Fellows Improve our finances Building a reserve account for investment Increase our visibility inside & outside UC Improving the website (photos and bios) Co-sponsoring speakers and events Mentoring young faculty and students

19 Graduate Student Fellows Chip Montrose and I developed a program to recognize and mentor Five talented PhD students/ yr. from all across UC who have advanced to candidacy GSF would join group of faculty mentors Fellow, emeritus/emerita faculty, others Goal is to broaden perspective of each GSF Keep strongest students interested in academic career by having them learn the breadth and depth of the university system Suggestion from President Ono

20 GS Fellow Program Sought valuable feedback President Ono, Provost Davenport and GF Executive Committee GS Fellow would receive $2,000/yr Up to 4 yrs to support stated career goals Conference travel, workshops, exhibitions, etc. Contract signed by all team members Networking to select teams & max interactions Program supported by Graduate School First group to begin in September, 2016 20 GS Fellows at steady state ($40,000/yr.)
