2. Finishing Materials Metals Standard Finishes
Spray Paint – Solvent based paints;
excellent aesthetic qualities, and
corrosion resistance
Powder coating – Coating metal in a plastic “skin”
The powder coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin".
The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating is mainly use for the coating of metal

3. Finishing Materials Metals Plastic dip coating Electroplating
Dip coating is a plastic manufacturing process where a heated metal mould is immersed in a tank of molten polymer resin such as plastisol. The plastic is coated/formed around the mould. The hotter the mould and the longer the dip, the thicker the coating. The mould is then extracted from the bath and goes through a curing or cooling process.
Electroplating
Silver electroplating. The anode is a silver bar and the cathode is an iron spoon.
The electroplating process provides a protective coating to different types of metal. The most common use in firearms manufacturing is chrome or nickel plating, which provide a bright finish to the metal. Electroplating can be used on various types of metals; the result is a thin metal coating on the exterior of the original metal part.

Galvanising – Involves dipping metal
(usually mild steel) into a bath of molten zinc.
Provides high corrosion resistance, although finish

Exterior – Varnish - solvent based, excellent weather protection
