2 Abstract המעבדה למערכות ספרתיות מהירות High speed digital systems laboratory 2 A major problem in the market today is the fuel consumption. Even in private cars, but particularly in large companies. Fuel expenses of running companies with large vehicle fleets with trucks and heavy vehicles can reach very high amounts each month. There are many products in the market whose purpose is fuel economy. Companies like “Ituran”, “green road” and other, offer fleet management solutions (FMS-Fleet Management System) to ensure savings of up to 15% on fuel costs. But none of the existing solutions doesn't consider the road conditions which may have a great affect on the fuel consumption. Mobiwise company offers a unique solution that guides the driver in real-time how to drive the car in order to achieve optimal fuel consumption. The system maps the way three-dimensionaly, studying the performance of the specific vehicle, calculates the optimum fuel economy and provides real-time guidance to the driver. In this project we have designed a board that would allow this system operation.

3 System description המעבדה למערכות ספרתיות מהירות High speed digital systems laboratory 3 The system is divided into two separate boards: the main board, which contains controller, sensors and memory. This module is in fact the end product that should be sell by Mobiwise. The second board contains the connections to the vehicle computer, power management, Bluetooth module, and other ports for the communication with the Host and all interfaces. This module provides an infrastructure for the system's operation. Behavior: the processor is connected to the vehicle computer via the OBD cable and to an Android Host which provides cellular network and GPS. The vehicle computer provides the power and most of the necessary information. Additional data received from sensors located on the card itself (e.g. accelerometer and pressure-meter). The data is stored in the memory and then sent to the main data base containing all the maps. The calculations are made in the processor according to Mobiwise algorithm and LEDs are shown on the windshield, depending on the outcome of the process.
