3. A Giant Jigsaw Puzzle All of the tectonic plates fit together, like a puzzle, but are not the same size. Along these plates there is movement occurring. Plates move away from each other, toward each other and slide past each other. Earthquakes and volcanoes and mountain ranges occur occur along these boundaries.

4. 3 Types of Plate Boundaries Convergent- Plates move toward each other, mountains form here Example: Subduction zones are convergent boundaries where volcanoes can be found. Divergent- Plates move away from each other. Example: sea floor spreading Transform: Plates move past each other. If they are too much trouble, you can fill out a referral and send them to the office. Each period, please take attendance and write down students that are absent. At the end of the day, please send it to the office with a student. Safety procedures In the event of a fire drill, leave the classroom and turn right. Exit through the doors at the end of the hall. In the event of a tornado drill, have students line up along the wall of my classroom and close the doors. You will need to move desks out of the way. In the event of a safety drill, lock the doors to the classroom (push and twist) and have students sit quietly against the wall. Schedule 1 st Period: 6 th Grade Pre-AP Science 7:30-8:24am When the bell rings at 7:25 for school to start, cut through the cafeteria and meet the students at the cafeteria door (right across from the office—where they usually go to enter the cafeteria). When the bell rings for first period to be over, follow the students through the cafeteria (except two band students will not go with you. They will wait at the corner for the band to walk by). Once at the cafeteria entrance again, you will find your second period class waiting to be walked to class. Pass out syllabus and give each group a glue stick (on front table in pink box) to glue them in their binder. 2 nd Period: 6 th Grade Pre-AP Science 8:27-9:21am Do the same thing as you did with first period. Some of Mrs. Pugh’s students will come in about 5-10 minutes into class. They will be working with Ms. Lowe. Also, Brandon Crenshaw does not write much. Often, his neighbors will assist him and that is just fine. When the bell rings at the end of class, this signals the beginning of homeroom. Homeroom lasts approximately one minute. Take homeroom attendance on a separate piece of paper and send it to the office with a student. 3 rd Period: Planning 9:25-10:25am 4 th Period: 7 th Grade Science 10:28- 11:20am At 11:20, please ask students to line up in the hallway for lunch. They need to be completely quiet going down the hall. Take students to lunch. When the cafeteria begins to empty, get back to the classroom quickly as your next class will be arriving. 5 th period: 8 th Grade Science 11:47- 12:41pm 6 th period: 7 th grade science 12:44- 1:38pm Do the same things that you did with 4 th period. 7 th period: 8 th grade science 1:41- 2:35pm *This is a very talkative group. Do the same things that you did with fifth period. Please give Naji Shade his work and fill out a post-it note to send him to the library to work.
