This workshop will provide faculty with updated knowledge and tools necessary to be effective in the classroom and in compliance with the Phoenix Campus and University policies. Objective

Setting Up a Syllabus in New Classroom Course Design Guide is not used in New Classroom Default syllabus in New Classroom offers the most current course design materials To set up a syllabus, select the default syllabus to edit or choose a previously saved syllabus (validate old syllabus)

Setting Up a Syllabus in New Classroom Publishing Syllabus Customized syllabus must be published by 11:59pm Arizona time, 8 days prior to start date If not posted by deadline, default syllabus will be auto-published. Can use “Edit Syllabus” feature to make adjustments to the Learning Activities

Syllabus Preparation and Modifying Assignments Do not modify objectives You can modify the assignments for weeks 2-5 or 6 Verify the rigorous assignment(s) directly align with the objectives Due dates/time– 6 pm the night of class

Instructional Alignment Some assignments are programmatic assessment assignments and may not be altered, but other assignments may be modified as long as the modification or alteration is done in a way that students are still required to demonstrate mastery of the provided objectives.
