Learning Management System A learning management system (LMS) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of e-learning courses or training programs. Colleges, universities, school districts, and schools use LMSs to deliver online courses and augment on-campus courses

EDMODO is a website that uses a simplified version of Facebook. The Edmodo network enables teachers to share content, distribute quizzes, assignments, and manage communication with students, colleagues, and parents. It is completely free. The only cost would be if you chose to add apps to the website that have a cost.

Schoology is a website and an app that can utilize to share information, resources, and files. It is a learning management system designed to provide a digital medium to enhance classroom interactions and support webpage and content creation as well as collaboration. Schoology includes plenty of useful features like a gradebook, attendance tracking, analytics, badges, calendar, event creation, private messages, groups, and profile personalization.

Create classes and folders : Teachers can create specific courses that students can join. Have discussions: through Schoology ’s discussion board. Settings for Tests and Quizzes (Time Limits & Retakes) Ability to setup modules or lessons (with materials) within a class or group Calendar syncs with Google Calendar Dropbox like feature for assignments Online Gradebook and Attendance Ability to track students usage Email and SMS text notifications to keep everyone up to date Announcement: Brings the message to the top of the Updates list Create Blogs within the product Embedding Videos Google Docs Synced

Students who interacted or posted work to a class lose access to it once that course expires.
