2. What is a bibliography? A bibliography is a collection of the sources you will use in your research paper. The bibliography includes all of the quotes or paraphrases you will use in your paper and a brief summary of each source. A bibliography is important to research writing because it helps you keep track of your sources and the information you have gathered. A bibliography will also help reduce the possibilities of you accidently plagiarizing information because you have already organized the information for use in your paper therefore you shouldn’t “accidently” take from a source.

Example Summary of Source The article “How Technology is Changing Disaster Relief” by Edwin Lane is about how the need for technology in the aftermath of disaster has escalated to a point in which it has to be addressed. The British military had to air drop solar powered lanterns that were attached to various types of phone chargers in order to help in a recent disaster. Even a few years ago, cell phones and technology would be the least of people’s worries as they tried to clean up after disasters but the shifting attitudes and needs for technology have changed that.
