6. What could the Executive branch do?
Congress passed the Farm Bill that will spread benefits to farmers in every region of the country, while trimming the food stamp program.
He signed it into law

7. What could the Legislative Branch do?
President Obama won't sign a bill that could have made it easier for courts to clear foreclosures. The bill aimed to clear up congestion in the courts by forcing courts to recognize notaries from other states, even if the records included electronic signatures.
Obama does a pocket veto while Congress is out of session so the bill dies.

8. What could the Judicial Branch do?
The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which made it illegal for same-sex couples to receive federal benefits
