2. Round $135.65762 to the nearest cent.
When you multiply or divide amounts of money, the answers may have more than two decimal places. Then you usually round the answer to the nearest cent.
Round $ to the nearest cent.
Step 1: Locate the digit to which the number is to be rounded. In this case, the key digit is 5. The key digit is shown in color in the example. $
Step 2: Check the digit to the right of the key digit. The digit is 7.
Step 3: If that digit is 5 or greater, add 1 to the key digit.
Step 4: Drop all the digits to the right of the key digit. $ rounded to the nearest cent is $135.66
