Purpose of Local Evaluations 1.Report on effectiveness of after school program 2.Provide information to help improve performance of after school programs 3.Meet state requirements 4.Sustainability

Required Elements (Minimum) Overview – National Database (Pending) – Demographic Data – Activities Objectives – SMART – Methodology for ratings – Rating explanation Performance Summary Recommendations Sustainability

Required Elements (Minimum) From Guidelines for Local Evaluations Document Overview – National Database (pending) Data should be entered correctly (watch out for typos, capitalization and grammar). Data should match what is in Local Evaluation. Data should be complete and accurate. Teacher surveys should be complete.

Required Elements (Minimum) From Guidelines for Local Evaluations Document Overview – Demographic Data (Match National Database) Snapshot/summary of the Program Include services and activities. Data on – Total Population – Numbers of attendees (regular and non-regular) – Contact hours for students and parents – Numbers of meetings, training sessions, etc.

Required Elements (Minimum) From Guidelines for Local Evaluations Document Objectives – Methodology for ratings I.E. Test scores, attendance, sign in sheets, lists of activities. – Rating explanation Follows methodology.

Required Elements (Minimum) From Guidelines for Local Evaluations Document Overview – Objectives Examples Students will improve mathematics skills. Students in the 21st CCLC will improve mathematics skills. Regular attendees of the 21 st CCLC will improve mathematics skills. Regular attendees of the 21 st CCLC will pass mathematics. Regular attendees of the 21 st CCLC will pass mathematics with at least a C average.

Required Elements (Minimum) From Guidelines for Local Evaluations Document Performance Summary – Short – How did the Center perform during the year. – Anecdotal data including quotes from parents, students, teachers, etc.

Required Elements (Minimum) From Guidelines for Local Evaluations Document Recommendations – What can be done to improve performance. Are objectives appropriate or should they be changed? Was sufficient data obtained or do data collection methods need to be changed? What do stakeholders (parents, community members, teachers, students, partners) recommend?
