EXPRESSING EMOTIONS What is important is how you express your emotions. Expressing your emotions in a positive way is a good way to balance your health triangle.

ANXIETY Mild anxiety can get your body ready for action and increase your energy levels. anxiety A state of uneasiness, usually associated with a future uncertainty When anxiety builds up it can interfere with eating and sleeping.

PANIC A heightened state of anxiety produces panic. panic A feeling of sudden, intense fear Symptoms include dizziness and pounding heart.

FEAR Fear is your body’s alert system. It prepares your body for quick action. In case a REAL THREAT exists. Fear can be negative if it becomes the central focus of your life. To help deal with fear you can talk to someone and take on your fears.

ANGER All of us get angry and that is okay. What is important is how we express our anger. Keeping anger bottled inside can physically and emotionally harmful

MIXED EMOTIONS Mixed emotions are when you have 2 or more emotions happening at the same time. Give an example of a situation where you might have mixed emotions. When dealing with mixed emotions talk to someone.

EMOTIONAL NEEDS Emotional needs are just as important as your physical needs (food, water, and sleep). emotional needs Needs that affect your feelings and sense of well-being

NEED FOR LOVE Offer to help out at home with out being asked. Ask a friend how his or her day went. Encourage others when they are down.

NEED TO BELONG Think about your favorite hobbies or activities. Membership in a club or team will help satisfy this need.

ACITIVITY By yourself make a list of positive behaviors you can do to help with anger management. In groups of two share and combine your lists. Give examples to the class.
