It helps to build trust and creates an environment in which people feel comfortable to talk about difficult issues. The importance of confidentiality

Confidentiality means that we all promise not to discuss anything we hear in this training without the permission of the person who tells the story. It is a promise which we give to each other – the facilitators, the participants, interpreters and staff. Confidentiality

We the participants and UNHCR staff in this “Extended Dialogue Consultation” agree to keep the names and identities of people who share information, stories and experiences during this dialogue. Date: Names:Signatures: Group Confidentiality Agreement

We, the facilitators, representing UNHCR, guarantee that information collected during this dialogue will be treated confidentially. While the content of the activities and discussion which takes place will be recorded, and used in any presentation, or feedback to key stakeholders, names and other information that could identify individuals will not be used in these or any other reports from this dialogue. We guarantee that any written reports, photographs or films produced from this dialogue will not be shown or published without written permission from your nominated representative/s. Participants of this dialogue will be sent copies of any reports or presentations from this dialogue within two weeks of their publication.
