Quick Review: Setup Steps
Registration: Individual Testing Center Everyone who will need to proctor exams, run reports, and download the software needs to be associated with the testing center. Tab: “Org Profile” –> “Associations” Testing software will need to be downloaded on each testing computer. Tab: “Training and Tools” -> “Console 8” & “Online Exams” Accept the site license (Vouchers do not require this step). Tab: “MyCertiport” -> “Licenses”

Quick Review: Managing Associations
An Organization Administrator can add/delete members, and change roles. Trainers and directors should have the Organization Administrator role. IT staff and test coordinators should have the Organization Member role. To add members, type the person’s Certiport username in the “Find” field and click “Submit”. Click on their last name (far left) and their name will appear in the managed associations. Default role is Organization Member. You may change the role in the drop-down box. To proctor exams, you must check the proctor box on the association page, after accepting the proctoring agreement. If you cannot check the proctor box, the person did not accept the proctoring agreement. Login at click on “My Profile,” and click on the “Roles” tab and click on “Become a Proctor”. Accept the agreement and click “Finish”. “None” role allows members to proctor exams but no other access to your test center’s portal. Log in as an Organizational Administrator, hover over “Org Profile,” and click on “Associations”

Quick Review: Certiport Exam Engines
For all Microsoft exams (MOS, MTA & MCE) use Console 8 testing engine IT staff needs to register at and send their username to the test center Organization Administrator, or your Deployment Manager Ask IT to send username, testing center name or CID, and state to your Org Admin or Deployment Manger so he/she can associate IT to the correct site Console 8

Quick Review: Preparing the Lab with IT
Console 8 must be installed to offer Microsoft exams Installer must have full local administration rights to the computer and must be associated with the testing center. To install exam engine: Log in to Certiport; select “Organization Member” Hover over “Training & Tools” and click on “Console 8 Install” Review the technical requirements Download the testing engine Run updates from the “Updates” tile in Console 8 Complete the user rights after installation and run diagnostic

Helpful Testing Tips – MOS 2013
Save your work often If your computer crashes the exam can only be restarted from the most recent save point Use the “Reset” button with caution “Reset” button will reset the entire exam forcing you to start from scratch (we have added a pop up if “reset” has been clicked) Use the “Undo” feature in the application to reverse mistakes

MOS 2013 Exam Format New Project-Based Format with MOS 2013
No longer performing individual, unrelated short tasks Now creating a complete document, workbook, or presentation from a set of guidelines The new format is designed to test a candidate’s ability to use a Microsoft Office application in a way that more closely aligns to a user’s everyday use of the application. Test Candidate may be asked to create a document that meets certain standards or guidelines

Quick Review: Check for IT Admin Rights
Prior to Exam Day: Check your testing machines for log in rights unless your IT has given you a special login to the computers (versus customer login) to take the exam. Click on the Console 8 icon and log in with your username and password. Click on the cog wheel (lower left). Click on “Admin Credentials” to make sure your IT staff added the rights. If you have not been provided with a login that has full, local admin rights to the computers, and IT did not complete this section, please request IT support (they do not need domain, only a username and password that will allow full admin rights during the exam).

Quick Review: Activating the Site License
The exam site license consists of 500 exams. To administer the exams, you must accept the site license agreement. (This step is not required if you are using exam vouchers for testing.) Log in to Certiport Portal at Certiport.com; select “Organization Administrator” role Hover over “My Certiport” and click on “Licenses” Once you accept the agreement, “Accept” will turn to “View,“ status will be “Active,” and the white dot will turn green.

Check for Updates Click on the Console 8 icon and log in with your username and password. Make sure your site is correctly associated; change it, if needed. If there is an exclamation point on the “Updates,” please click and proceed with the updates (a red bar indicates mandatory updates, a green bar indicates recommended updates). This needs to be completed on each computer. It’s recommended that you do this the day before testing. Tip: If you are not administering IC3 exams, you uncheck the IC3 Program updates

Diagnostics If all computers are identical in technical requirements, you only need to run the diagnostics on one computer and only one application. Click on the “Diagnostics” tile. Click the arrow. You will have a number of green boxes that you will be clicking through: “Certify”, then “Microsoft Office Specialist”, then the MOS suite (2013), then choose an application (e.g. Word), then click the arrow. If you have any red “X”s in the green box, please contact Certiport Technical Support at , extension 9

Test Day

Exam Day “Thaw” or turn off any “deep freeze” software.
Check that Windows Installer is set on manual. Close all programs. Hide taskbar. If the computer freezes, a common issue is that an update request behind the test popped up. Windows Installer is a common issue. Turn off the computer and reboot. Have the test candidate log back in. Before they begin, a window will pop-up asking why they are restarting the exam. Our server will remember where the student left off and the time. They will have 7 days to complete the exam. If they restart, they must be at the same computer. If there are other issues, or continued errors, please contact our customer service: , option 9.

Verify Console 8 is displaying the name of your testing center. If it’s incorrect, click the arrow to change it. This will require the Test Candidate to log in again.

Microsoft Office Selections Test Candidates will click on “Study Practice Certify” Continue to click through on the green boxes in this order: “Certify” “Microsoft Office Specialist” Office suite (2013) Office application (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, or Word, etc.) MTA Selections Test Candidate will click on the appropriate Program Test Candidate will select their exam

Test Candidates will verify their information by clicking on the icons to the right of the options. Test Candidate will not be able to proceed until all Exam Requirements have been completed Proctor will enter proctor credentials Exam will begin with exam tutorial *If NDA and Microsoft registration were completed previously, these steps won’t be required again at exam launch. If Microsoft Exam registration was not completed when Certiport account was created, Test Candidates will be prompted to register to take the exam. Click on the grey box at the top, “Use my Certiport profile data.” The required fields will auto fill. Then, click “Submit.”

After verifying all sections, click the arrow for “Proctor Authorization.” Type your username and password and check the box. Click the arrow and launch the exam

Reporting Summary Report (Exam Result Reprint) – pass, fail, or incomplete score and detail on feature sets Hover on the “Reports” menu tab, then select “Exam Report Reprint” Detailed Report (Results 264 Plus) – score pass/fail on all Test Candidates up to 3 years Click on the “Reports” menu tab to see expanded Reports menu Generate Certificates (Print Certificates) – reprint for your Test Candidates Hover on the “Reports” menu tab, then select “Print Certificates”

Certification Results
As an Organization Administrator or Organization Member: Select the “Reports” tab and click “Exam Result Reprint” With your organization selected, enter the date of the exam and click “Go” Locate the score report you wish to view from the candidate information listed and click “View” Use the options within the PDF window to print or save a copy of the report

Group Results As an Organization Administrator:
Select the “Reports” tab. With your organization selected, download the report by clicking on the report name. The most commonly used report is the “Results (264) Plus” report. This report shows Test Candidate name, testing center, exam, exam group number, proctor name, and more.

Print an Official Exam Certificate
All certificates can be generated real-time right in your classroom/lab. Certificates will not be mailed. A Test Candidate does have an option to purchase a paper certificate for a minimal cost. Log in to and select the “Organization Administrator” role. Select the “Reports” tab and click “Print Certificates.” Select the program and date range, then click “Search.” Select the certificates you wish to print, then click “Print Certificates.”

Master Certification Requirements: Word Expert (2013 has 2 exams) and Excel Expert (2013 has 2 exams) Word Expert (2013 has 2 exams) or Excel Expert (2013 has 2 exams) and PowerPoint, or Outlook, or Access

Test Candidate Access Test Candidates have access to their exam attempts and certification information. They may view it at any time. It allows them viewing and printing options for their transcripts and certificates. In addition, if a Test Candidate needs to send verification to an employer or higher education institution, there is an option for data to be ed directly.
