4 Almost One Million Malawians today are HIV infected with 14% general, 18% Semi - Urban and up to 30% urban HIV Prevalence rate More than 150,000 Malawians have AIDS today 80,000 Malawians die every year from AIDS Related infections and Diseases 860,000 children have been left Orphans in Malawi today 19 Malawians get HIV, and 5 die of AIDS related infections every hour 46% of all new infections are in the age group of 10 – 25 years
