10 GRC/OZ Monthly Tag Up – 10 Glenn Research Center Mission Integration and Planning Increments 31-32 – GRC Payload Planning (Cont’d) IPM: IPM: B. Rhone/ D. McConnell LIS Rep: Parneet Kaur / Andrew Tucker / Jason Levy CEF CEF # 3222 – SLICE removal from Inc 31/32 CEF # 3216 – Update GRC Inc 31/32 PTP CEF # 3145 -Delete BXF from Increment 31-32 IDRD. BXF was returned on ULF7 and no longer on ISS. CEF# 3194 - Add FCF Resupply to HTV-3 flight CEF # 3306 - This CEF is to trash the MDCA Radiometer which was recently replaced by the crew with the newer and improved MDCA Radiometer II. The MDCA Radiometer (P/N 67235MFAC13900) has a mass of 1.07 kg and dimensions of 12.4 x 8.2 x 8 cm. The MDCA Radiometer is no longer needed on orbit and is not required for return. CEF# 3307 - Correct the HTV3 manifest and update SpaceX-1 upmass request ( Deletes one FCF H/W Item from HTV3, corrects the mass for two hardware items, and corrects a part name and part number for another H/W Item. Due to the correction of the two mass numbers total FCF Resupply on HTV3 goes up 1.2 kg. Additionally this CEF adds additional H/W to SpaceX-1. This additional hardware adds 28.8 kg to the FCF Resupply previously shown in the PTP) CEF# 3361- Reduce the FCF Launch Manifest aboard HTV3 ( One pair of MDCA Needles will not be able to make the HTV3 flight having failed a critical flow test and verification. The MDCA Needles are used to deliver liquid fuel within the CIR for combustion experiments) CEF # 3362 - Add BCAT Adaptor to HTV3 ( This CEF adds a new component to support the BCAT series of experiments. In October 2011, Mike Fossum created a new setup when installing the BCAT-6 sample module. The new set up provided BCAT with several efficiencies and benefits, however also introduced an unanticipated and undesirable sway of the module resulting in less than perfect imaging over long term sessions. To avoid this, BCAT requires almost daily crew intervention to re-align the set up. (tweaking both camera and sample positions) This new component would eliminate the sway and thereby result in more stable images and result in less crew intervention as well as improve the quality of the images and thereby improving obtained science data. ) Status: Approved Status: Approved Status: Approved Status: Open Due to the Soyuz 30 vehicle problem, the Increment 31 will begin at Soyuz 28 undock on April 30, 2012. The launch of Soyuz 30 has been rescheduled for May 15, 2012. SpaceX-1 launch is now scheduled for August 18, 2012.

14 National Aeronautics and Space Administration www.nasa.gov FLEX-2 On-Orbit Operations Status Ops Complete (to date) Ops Planned (next month) Ops Planned (to completion) 8~ 8-12~ 400 This Month’s Highlight –Avionics shut down at end of first runs on 17 January; would not reboot on 19 th –MDCA boot selector installed on 13 February 2012 –The CIR team successfully performed a “ping” test. Confirms speculation that the normal boot loader firmware has been corrupted Verifies proper operation of the Ethernet I/F and the path from the Avionics Unit to the IOP Firmware re-install operation on 20 February –Test Points resumed 22 February; 4 test points achieved. Issues –One month of operations lost due to boot up failure –Of first four test points, only one is considered “good” by the PI; may need to go back as time and resources allow to redo 3 of the 4 tests Some “go-backs” are possible; but perhaps not all can be performed given available resources First tests of new system expected to have start up issues; operations should go smoother as experience with system accumulates

15 National Aeronautics and Space Administration www.nasa.gov InSPACE-3 On-Orbit Operations Status Ops Complete (to date) Ops Planned (next months) Ops Planned (to completion) NoneOps scheduled for June 2012 Highlight Performed the monthly inspections (2/8/12 by Bob Green, Project Scientist for InSPACE-3) of the non-flight vials for particle clumping and/or any other changes to the fluid. No change from prior month inspection. Completed documenting cameras change out procedure and is currently under review. Vials inspection and vial particles mixing/distribution procedures are to be completed by 3/30 for review. MSG is currently working a CEF to add an additional 9 hours and 55 minutes of crew time for the above procedure ops Lauren Sharp will be taking over Bob Green’s duties for InSPACE-3

This series of test was with VG-2 and open perforations in Quadrant 4. The 10 test points were per the test matrix for Vane Gap 2. Don Pettit is requesting and receiving Space to Ground voice communication to talk to the PI Mark Weislogel. The CFE-2 Vane Gap-1 (VG-1) was operated on February 7, 2012. Don Pettit requested that Space to Ground voice loop be enabled so that he could speak directly to the PI Mark Weislogel. Don performed 10 additional test points to locate the critical angle of 226 degrees for the for VG-1 vessel in the Quadrant 3.
