Personal pronouns are pronouns used as substitutes for proper or common nouns.

For example: John makes the bed every morning He makes the bed every morning

Possessive Pronouns. A possessive pronoun is used instead of a noun.

Possessive Pronouns: Mine Yours His Hers Its Ours Theirs

For example: My friend John has a new dog. His old dog died last week.

Possessive Adjectives. A possessive adjective is usually used to describe a noun.

Possessive Adjectives: My Your Her His Its Our Their

For example: Susan will visit her friends when she goes to England. Susan will visit Bratt and Patrick when she goes to England.
