ASOCIO Mission & Vision ASOCIO Mission To be globally recognized as the champion for Asia Oceania in the promotion and facilitation of ICT trade and development for our members. ASOCIO Vision ASOCIO is recognized as the premier platform for our members to: Create and facilitate frameworks and processes for ICT trade; Engage and influence Asia Oceania’s governments to reduce and remove global trade barriers, and develop the ICT industry; Assist member economies to build globally competitive ICT industry; and Be the Voice of ICT industry at international trade and technology fora. While security is a complex issue, respondents almost unanimously agreed on the need for standards and auditing mechanisms

ASOCIO Strategic Focus in 2015 – 2016 (1) Form Strategic Alliance between ASOCIO & APICTA to Promote Asian Emerging ICT Companies Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) was initiated in 2000 and Multimedia Development Corporation of Malaysia APICTA functions as a platform to promote innovative emerging ICT companies in Asia- Oceania by Running Annual APICTA Awards APICTA members are from Australia, Brunei, Bangladesh, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macao, Myanmar, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand 17 categories of APICTA Awards: e-Learning, e-Government & Services, e-Inclusion and e-CommunitySecurity, Communication Applications, Industrial Applications, Retail & Supply Chain Management, Financial Application, Media and Entertainment Technology, Tourism and Hospitality, Applications and Infrastructure Tools, Research and Development, Start-up Companies,f Sustainability & Green IT, Tertiary Student Project,,Secondary Student Project. ASOCIO Strategic Focus in 2015 – 2016 (2) Engage with Asian Economic Community (AEC) to Enable Maximum Participation to Business Opportunities among ASOCIO Member Economies Create platform for certifications to support ASOCIO companies so they can benefit from AEC in term of free flow of skilled workforce. Make proposal to issue common policy within AEC for tax free e-Commerce, free flow of data, security, privacy, etc. Taxation should be discussed, classified, and propose to the government for tax-free policy in order to promote e-commerce. Increase English literacy and use English as primary language to communicate in ICT arena Make ASOCIO as a vital interest group of AEC to engage dialogues with ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN ICT Ministers Meeting (TELMIN). Secretariat is responsible for making proposals of initiatives required.

ASOCIO-NASSCOM Outsourcing Workshop Financial Considerations ASOCIO shall contribute US$10,000 as initial fund NASSCOM shall contribute training facilities, courseware, lecturers Students shall be responsible for travel & accommodations If being held elsewhere than India, the hosting economies shall contribute training facilities & pay for travel and accommodation of fly-in lecturers ASOCIO and NASSCOM shall co-work to find financial aids from international organizations and outsourcing MNCs to support students travel and accommodation expenses
