Shared Values introduction of a new value each month Through these shared values children learn: the importance of friendship and unity How to approach life with positivity and hope About the wider world and their role within it The whole staff team and all pupils are involved in promoting these values and recognising their positive effects around the school.

Aims Develop an understanding of what values are and their importance in life Encourage children to refer to them when making choices and use them when solving conflicts Share and promote our school values with others in the school community Promote positive behaviour choices by developing strong values within the pupils at the school

How? Each month a new value is introduced through assemblies and lessons. Values are displayed around the school and in classrooms, with teachers using multiple opportunities to refer to them during the school day. A full set of values is displayed in planners. PHSE lessons will be further opportunities to discuss and promote values within each classroom with informal opportunities being utilised whenever possible, e.g. playtime.
