What do you know about Christmas? On the 25 th of December British celebrate Christmas. 26th December is also a public holiday, called Boxing Day. This is the time to visit friends and relatives.

Decoration of the house for Christmas The British like decorating their houses. They are very beautiful!

Santa Claus – what do you know about this man? Santa Claus was a person whose name was St. Nicolas, who always gave presents to poor children. After he died, the Germans brought this legend to America. Soon, St. Nicolas became Santa Claus.

Presents People buy presents for each other, try to send Christmas cards for their relatives and friends.

Stockings Children look forward to Christmas, write letters to Santa Claus. They hang socks, called Christmas stockings.

Christmas trees Decoration of Christmas tree is a real art. There are even decoration festival in Great Britain. A Christmas tree stands in everybody's living room at Christmas. Around the base of the tree there are usually the gifts and toys.

Christmas meal The traditional dinner on Christmas is a turkey and a pudding. After they go to the sitting room to listen to the Christmas speech of the Queen, shown on TV.
