2. Born June 19, 1903 in New York City, but was raised in Pittsburgh, PA
Started making art at the age of 12
Moved to Paris, France to study the art of sculpture with Jacques Loutansky
Became friends with many famous artist including Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Fernand Leger, and Georgia O’Keeffe

7. Three Birds In Flight
Located in the Regional Enterprise Tower on Sixth Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh (the former ALCOA building)
Created in 1953, the sculpture made out of aluminum, is 14 feet long and 12 feet wide, and weighs about 700 pounds!

9. Now, we are going to look at birds and break them down into simple shapes to prepare to make our own birds in flight.
