2  Named anchors are spots within a page you can link to “Anchors” a specific part of the page Has a name so it can be identified for the link  Useful for a “one long page” strategy Table of contents Alphabetical listing Document likely to be printed

3  Three steps: 1. Create the anchor using the anchor icon on the Insert panel  Come up with a naming convention you’ll remember  E.g. - “temp” for a section relating to the template 2. Link to the anchor  Use the link box in the PI  Use “#” followed by the name of the anchor  E.g. – “#temp” 3. Put a “back to top” link at the end of each section  Links to named anchor at top of page

4  To link to the anchor from another page: URL of page + # + name of anchor (no spaces)  E.g. – co.shtml#temp (relative link)  E.g. - http://ext.colostate.edu/train/co.shtml#temp (absolute link) Links to the named anchor “temp” on the co.shtml page
