3. BACKGROUND World Bank funded project commencing July 2013. Spatial Dimensions (now Trimble) owned Flexicadastre application was tailored to capture the Mining Act 1992 processes Launched in mid-2014 by Minister for Mining. On-going support and training by Spatial Dimensions. 3

BENEFITS OF ‘FLEXI’ Internally  Tracking of Applications have improved.  Reporting of tenement status improved.  Management of tenement work improved.  Internal transfer of data improved (e.g. annual reports to library upon expiry or surrender). Externally  Information on status of applications is available on Map Portal for public  Option for tenement holders to manage obligations directly is available (e.g.report submissions and rental payments)  Improved transparency of mineral tenement applications  Collaboration with other government agencies is improved (e.g. OCCD/JICA, landuse mapping project). 8

9. CHALLENGES Internet dependent Cloud solution is therefore vital for when online applications. Needs commitment from associates to ensure data is up to date. Incorporated performance management framework. Lack of legislation supporting online application option. Needs all tenement holders to use to refine. 9
