OPTION COURSES Available Year Three and Four of Concurrent

What are Option Courses? Extra courses on top of your regular workload, that you have the option of taking within your third and/or fourth year of the Concurrent program. If interested in participating in a Native, Kindergarten, or Outdoor placement in year five, must take the associated Option course.

What are Option Courses? Con’t Students intending to teach in the Separate School Boards should be aware that preference in hiring may be given to students with a pre-service Religious Education course. Students are encouraged to research the hiring practices of the boards where they wish to seek employment. Students choosing to practice teach in the Catholic School Boards must be of the Catholic faith.

More To Know… Not all Option courses are offered every year. Extra cost to Option Courses. Do not require International Option if interested in applying for an International placement in year five.

Remember… CANNOT take Option Courses in year five. Students must complete any option courses in year three or four of the Concurrent program. Plan accordingly. You are not required to take Option Courses to graduate. They are just that- an option.
