1 Southeast Native Americans By Marvin Spady, Pajuah Purnell, and Sabrina Jefferson

2 Name of Tribes  There were many tribes in southeast America some of them are the,  Shawnee  Chickasaw  Astana  Creek  Pensacola

3 Clothing  They wore different animal skins with fur, deer skins with tunics, moccasins and buskins. They also wore feathers, garget, and rows of elk teeth sewn on wool.

4 Beliefs/Religion  Their belief was that the sun regarded as the supreme deity and they venerated the moon and some brilliant stars.  Stable federal form of government  Built huge earthworks  Largest indigenous building north of Mexico  Sophisticated culture  Stories collected from survivors in early twentieth century

5 Housing and Transpotation  The different Indian tribes lived around the rivers. Their houses were made of river cane and plaster with thatched roofs.  Since they lived near rivers they mostly traveled in canoes.

6 Food and Environment  They hunted caught fish and farmed vegetables. Some of the foods they ate were squash, wild turkey, deer, corn, beans pumpkin, and turtles.  Most of the Indians lived near rivers for fishing and water supply.  They lived near a lot of water in order for them to travel in canoes.

7 Adaptation  Used the animals that were already there for clothing  They hunted animals that were there for them to eat and survive  They used natural resources like plaster and river cane  They also used the rivers and lakes for water
