3  Electronic commerce is commonly known as e- commerce consists of buying and selling of products or services over electronic system such as :- Internet and other computer network.  The amount of trade conducted electronically has grown extra ordinarily with wide spread internet use.  E – Commerce brings business right to the costumers door, wherever in the world that might be. The advantage of secure online payment means your costumer pay and wait for goods to be shipped.

4 i. E – Commerce basically being in 1994 when Jeffry Bezos started Amazon.com out of his own garage. ii. Well known e-commerce stores include:- E- Bay, Dell, Snapdeal, Flipkart, Wal-Mart. iii. Since 1994 business of al shapes and size have began launching or expanding their online presence. At any given time, there are approximately and million consumer world wide that actively shop and Buy through web stores or retailers

5  E- Commerce can be classified based on the type of participants in the transaction. a. Business to Business {B2B} B2B E- Commerce transaction are those were both the transacting parties are businesses. For e.g. Manufacturers, traders, retailers, etc. a. Business to Costumer {B2C} When businesses sell electronically and the costumers, it is called business to customer B2C. For e.g. Amazon.com, Snapdeal.com.

6 Following are the advantages of E-Commerce.  Overcome Geographical Limitations:- If you have a physical stores, you are limited by geographical area that you can services. With an E- Commerce website whole world is your playground to get the service.  Lower Cost:- One of the most tangible positives of E- Commerce is lower cost.

7  Locate the Product quicker:- On the E- Commerce website costumer can use search box to immediately narrow down there product search. Some website remember costumer preferences and shopping list to provide repeat purchase.  Provide additional information:- There are limitations to the amount of information that can be displayed in a physical store.E- Commerce website can make additional information that can be displayed or easily available to costumer.  Remain open All Time:- E-Commerce website can run all time. This increase the number of orders from merchant point of view. Form the costumer point of view, “Always Open” store is more convenient.
