The Bucket Clock: Revisited =

People Question “No Death Before Sin” If death didn’t enter reality until after Adam sinned, how do you account for what Adam ate? Didn’t his salad die in order to feed him?
5
But first: Is a tomato a fruit?
6
Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—

Genesis 1:29 Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so.

The Concept of “Death” In the Bible, animals and people are said to have nephesh, that is, “the breath of life.” The word mut means “death” refers to animals and people, those things with nephesh “ So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.” (Gen 1:21)

Psalm 37:2 for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. The word translated “die” in this passage is yabesh. It means to wither, and it is only ever used in reference to plants.

The Bible makes an apparent distinction between the “life” of plants and of animals. Can It Be that there are two definitions for death: one for biology and one for the Bible, just as there are two definitions of “fruit?”

15
Gen 6:10 And Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
16
Gen 6:17-20 For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die. 18 But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives with you. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female. 20 Of the birds according to their kinds, and of the animals according to their kinds, of every creeping thing of the ground, according to its kind, two of every sort shall come in to you to keep them alive.
