Introduction ATP synthesis needs a constant supply of energy. The system that predominantly supplies this energy varies and Intensity and Duration of activities.

Definition of the Energy Continuum This describes the process by which ATP is regenerated via the different energy systems

Threshold Threshold = The point at which the energy system being used is no longer effective at producing energy for ATP synthesis Copy table 6 pg 379 Energy System Thresholds.

Training Implications Make training specific to your activities needs. Need to understand which energy systems are used during your event / sport and at what times. Use training methods mainly that will improve your predominant energy system. Train all three systems to improve overall general fitness.
