What is Rabies? A deadly viral infection Usually spread by rabid animals through infected saliva. It affects the brain and nervous system.

5 Common Symptoms Hallucinations Muscle Spasms Seizures Weakness or paralysis Extreme sensitivity to bright light, sounds, or touch Difficulty speaking

Current Research Rabies is prevented/treated with vaccines Rabies is fatal if untreated If you’ve never been vaccinated: 5 doses of rabies vaccine is needed If you’ve been previously vaccinated: 2 doses of rabies vaccine is needed

Who is most susceptible to this type of disease? No one group of people are more open to rabies. Children are most at risk.
