2 Going over the rules  In five groups define and illustrate what the rules  Each group must discuses at least 10 examples that define the rule  Examples must be school related.  Must be approved by me.  After the group will put it on a poster paper and make an illustration for each of the examples and a title.  When finished, all groups will report back to the class.  I will choose the best one from all of my classes to post up in my room.

3 My Story  The propose of this worksheet is that to get to know each other a bit more.  Follow the directions for each of the boxes  Must fill each box fully with drawings, color, and pen  Make it nice: design the borders to make your page unique  Use the center box for your 4 items that represent you. (its like a coat of arms)  On the back explain why those four things represent you. (one Paragraph)

4 Autobiography  Please make an autobiography,  It must have an outline of what you are going to talk about  It must be typed,  double space 12 pt font, Times New Roman.  At least two pages long  At least 5 paragraphs  You are going to talk about the following  Where your from, Family, a History about yourself  Major achievements/awards  Most memorable childhood moment  Special talent/ gift

5 Depth of Knowledge  Look at the Depth of Knowledge Define all the words you do not know about. In Level 2- 4 at least 10  For now on Label your bellwork what DOK Level it its DOK1 and explain why.  Use the Level 2 – 4 words to make 10 questions about This class or your other class you have

6 Cornell Notes  Look at the sheet given and compare this to your notes about surviving Freshmen and revised your notes  After that is done revise this with the check list on the back of the cornell sheet.  Grab a US history book and look at the book look at ch 7 sections 1- 3 and do notes about each section (Pg254)  EQ: What were the Economic, Social, Political, Effects on immigration?

7 Topic: CH7 Sec1: New Immigrants  Golden Door  Europeans  Chinese & Japanese  West Indies & Mexico  Life in the New Land  Difficult Journey  Ellis Island  Angel Island

8 Truman Show  What are some goals that Truman has?  How does Truman achieve his goals?  What kind of traits does Truman have to achieve his goals ?  What would you do in Truman Situation?  What do you think about the movie ?

9 Time Management Skits  Plan a skit about the topic assigned to you.  Brain storm and discuses on what are good time management skills and barriers to success?  Every one must have apart  One long scenario  Max of 10 minutes min of 5 minutes  Must have a scripts and Story board  Must be some what memorized.  Must have some props  While groups are preforming, the rest will write down notes on their worksheet.

12 Brainstorming Chart  Make a T-Chart on brain storming:  Left side – What it Sounds Like  Right side – What it Looks Like  Must have at least 10 items for both sides.  Gallery walk the class about their times  Discuses with class  Two paragraphs reflecting on the items (compare and contrast)

13 Map of Ewa Beach  Make a make of Ewa Beach  Must have at least 10 land marks in the area Must have  Rank the 10 landmarks from 1 most important to 10 least important.  Must have color/pen  Needs roads names of streets buildings  Needs legend roads, buildings, schools etc.

16 Memorization song/rhyme  You must do the following:  Must have 8 memorization principles and at least two strategies that you learned while doing this unit ( ie Key words, acronym, Phrases).  You and your elbow partner will have to sing it.  Make a song, rap, or rhyme  Must have lyrics down with at least a minute length.  No more than 5 minutes  Keep it clean.  If you making a music video you Must have  Story board,  Plan/Procedure of what you did  Lyrics
