2 What Is A Climate of Inquiry?  Process which students use higher level thinking strategies  Starts with posing questions, problems, or scenarios

3 What Does It Look Like?  Student Centered  Socratic Seminars  Hands-on activities  Collaboration

4 Language Arts  Think about what you ate for breakfast.  Write your breakfast down on a piece of paper.  Pick a partner from your table.  Describe to your partner what you ate without using “I, He, She, They”

5 Group Discussion  Find the quote handout in package  Determine which quote you agree with the most.  Go to corner that includes the quote.  Discuss with group in corner.  Share with class.

6 Science Raisin Activity  Pick a partner from your table.  Ensure you have all supplies (cup, box of raisins, cran- raisins, straw, baggie, rice, corn, and noodles)  Fill the cup 1/3 with soda.  Add 10 raisins to the soda.  Discuss observations with partner.  Add more raisins, cran-raisins, or both to soda.  Discuss observations with partner.  Questions to Ask  What will happen if rice, corn or noodles will be added to the mixture?  Explain why you think some of the raisings are bubbling? Rising?
