Can also be split into four equal quarters. 2.Equator – line of latitude that divides the earth into northern and southern hemispheres. 3.Prime Meridian – line of longitude that divides the earth into eastern and western hemispheres. 4.Tropic of Cancer – line of latitude north of the equator. 5.Tropic of Capricorn – line of latitude south of the equator. 6.International date line – line of longitude east of the prime meridian where the calendar date is one day earlier than the west.
