Enabling young people to explore their worlds Why are we running the camp? PV now run districts camp for all sections individually which is good But no opportunity to bring the whole district together since 2007 Show young people that they are part of something wider than their section or group Many new leaders will not have experienced one before Chance for adults to share ideas and make new Scouting contacts Supports linking between sections Gives another opportunity to have fun An opportunity to show case the best of Pang Valley Scouting Supports groups in providing nights away opportunities for young people

Enabling young people to explore their worlds Date and Theme Friday 27 th may to Sunday 29 th (Bank holiday weekend so time to recover on Monday!) Groups will camp as groups – gives chance for groups to work together Site infrastructure (toilets/water/waste) will be provided Overall theme for the camp is ‘Fun at the Fayre’

Enabling young people to explore their worlds Activities Suitable for all ages Will use themed zones on Saturday Sunday the site will be transformed into a Country Fayre! Live band on Saturday eve Some activities will be bought in and some we will have to run ourselves

Enabling young people to explore their worlds Costs Young people camping fee £35 Adult camping fee £tbc Beaver Scout Day rate £15 Sat/£10 Sunday Fee covers camping fees, all activities, site infrastructure and sunny weather Groups will provide their own kit, transport and food

Enabling young people to explore their worlds What we need from you £75 deposit per group by end Dec A ‘best guess’ indication of numbers Talk to your young people, parents and leaders about the camp Get the date in their diaries Sell the opportunity Vacancies on the camp planning team Groups will be asked to provide adults to help run activities on the camp to keep costs down
