Unit Missions and Goals The Tom and Brenda McDaniel University Center, as the Center of campus life, provides programs and activities to engage students in acquiring competencies in critical thinking, self-awareness, communication, diversity, citizenship, leadership, membership, and relationships. The goal is to provide developmental opportunities through a variety of enriching co-curricular activities to enhance the student experience at Oklahoma City University. The purpose is to connect students, faculty, staff and community while encouraging a holistic approach to the college experience and enhance student learning.

Programs and Services Involved Center ◦ Service Desk ◦ Coordinates community service sanctions ◦ Assists student organizations and advisors with budget management, SGA allotment procedures, travel procedures, etc. Facility Management ◦ Space reservations (internal and external) ◦ Maintenance of furnishings ◦ Holiday decorations ◦ Maintain game tables and outdoor tables University Center Activities ◦ Organizational information table scheduling ◦ Local business relations ◦ Student events and activities

Financial Resources/Budget The Budget for the University Center for FY 2013 was $19,900.00. Space rental fees 12-13: $2,995.00. ◦ Space rental funds supplement the University Center maintenance budget that includes: Persian Rugs repair Additional deep cleaning Wood conditioning Replacement of 5 lamps at $300.00 per lamp

Department Information Continued Changes Added responsibility to coordinate the assignment of community service sanctions. In Fall 2013, student assigned community service sanctions completed 1,500 hours in Fall 2013, representing $10,875.00 worth of student labor. Many of the work assignments were to enhance the appearance of the University Center. Student Life office relocated and remodeled to include Involved Center. Added a Graduate Assistant student-mentor to chaperone student organizations on off-campus outings.

New Requests for Resources Funding for an international student to work in the Involved Center - $2,400.00
