2 1.1Why did you use a computer? What other systems / resources could you have used? On a whiteboard- I didn’t use a whiteboard because it would be a it hard to see Using a video- I didn’t use a video because it would of worked PowerPoint Speaking to the class- I didn't speak in the class because I would have been too nervous. Leaflets- I didn’t use leaflets because sur didn’t ask us too. Posters- we didn’t use posters because it wouldn’t of worked. Using word- we didn’t use word because we couldn’t put animation. I used a computer to do a presentation about the school and I did it in PowerPoint and using a video to show what the school is actually like inside and outside. We did this for the year 7s to show them what our school and the teachers and for the uniform for their parents. I also used the internet to get pictures and used the shared folder to have a look at the example PowerPoint.

3 1.2What skills did you need to learn in order to use PowerPoint? The skills that used in order to do PowerPoint was ICT skills, creativity skills and management skills. You will also need the timing skills for the timing on the PowerPoint to have a look at how much time you will need for it. You needed to make sure that the video was from shared so you need to know how to transfer a video onto the PowerPoint presentation. You needed these skills to create a PowerPoint on the school and too add a video and pictures and some animation onto the slides to make it look more better for the new year 7s and for the parents of smiths wood.

4 1.2What resources did you need to make the presentation successful? Shared area (for pictures and video),The internet,Pictures,Designing of the whole presentation, Other PowerPoints. I thought that this presentation was successful because I used all of the resources which would have been really helpful for the presentation. I used different colours to make the presentation stand out this was because I would have looked better that just having a plain presentation. You need the timings because you don’t have to keep on using the mouse you can use the other PowerPoints to get ideas.

5 1.4What factors might have affected how well you completed the presentation? (e.g. time / attendance / knowledge of software) You need your timing on this presentation because then you can do the timing yourself and you don’t have to keep on clicking on the mouse to move the slide. You need to be in because you might miss stuff in class that will make your presentation better. You need to know the knowledge because you need to know what you are doing. You need your skills because then you can make the presentation more better because then you can have the better software.

6 1.6Why did you use PowerPoint to make your presentation? What other software was available? Why did you choose not to use them? For the new year 7s,To make them have a look about the school, For the parents so they might want to come to the school. The other software's that were available was the internet, shared area to get the pictures, the timing so I don’t have to keep clicking on the mouse. I also made this PowerPoint to look at how you can use different things to make the PowerPoint more effective for the year 7s. I chose not to use some of the software because the teacher didn’t ask us but we could of used the different software's but that we up to use and if we wanted to. Prezi this an online program but we didn’t have it in school so we couldn’t use it.

7 1.7Were there any legal constraints or local constraints that changed the way you created your presentation? (e.g. copyright, file sizes, AUP) In the presentation I afforded the pictures and videos from the internet and took from the shared area. So I didn’t use any legal things liking taking a video form the internet because if I did then that would have been illegal but if I got them from the shared that I would have been legal and I was allowed to do it. I didn’t change the way I used the presentation because I took the images from the shared area. I copied some pictures onto other slides and used copyright to copy the images to make the presentation more effective.

8 2.2Which tools within PowerPoint made it appropriate for your presentation? Pictures, Shared area for the example of the PowerPoint, Video Timing, Animation. We made the presentation appropriate because the teacher put a checklist on the board and we had to look at what we had to do. We also made the whole presentation looking presentable for the year 7s to have a look at and think about what the school is like. We also made it effective by having pictures and images so they can have a look at what the teachers might be like here.

9 2.4What improvements do you think you could do to your presentation? Add some more images, Add timing, Add another video, Different types of animation. I could of added improvements to make the PowerPoint more successful and get the PowerPoint at a high standard and add some more harder equipment in their. The other improvements I could of added was shapes and images and just a bit of writing to explain about the school and what types of challenges they will face and fears. I could have done stuff at home to make the presentation more reliable and added in my own skills too.

10 3.2What improvements do you think you could have done to improve your work rate? (keyboard shortcuts, file names & locations, backups, work after school, templates, planning) File names, Locations, Working after school, Templates, Planning If I did these things then it would have been better than anybody else's. The other improvements that I could other done was adding more pictures to make it more effective and make more joyful so all of the year 7s to have a look and think about if they want to come to smiths wood. I could have come back after school to carry on with some hard work because in lesson you can get really distracted with the other people talking and I cant really focus.
