Location Where people are Absolute location: definite reference to a point. Ex. Latitude and Longitude Relative location: describes a place in terms of the environment and/or things around it.

Place Describes the human and physical characteristics of a place.

Human-Environment Interaction How humans adapt to or change the land.

Movement Movement of people, goods, ideas, resources, and services around the world.

Region The division of the world into units of study (all parts of a region will have something in common.)

Words to Know Equator –0 degrees (°) Latitude Prime Meridian –0° Longitude Lines of Latitude –Measure the distance North and South of the Equator (0 to 90°)

More Words to Know Lines of Longitude (Meridians): –Measures the distance East and West of the Prime Meridian (0-180°) Hemisphere: –Division of the globe into halves (North, South, East, West)
