Lime Street will be completely closed at 5pm, no exceptions. All arrivals after 5pm will be from Hartsell and Lake Beulah Street only. If you are in contact with a lost child take them to the nearest police officer. Parking is East of Pro Floats in South Lot of The Lakeland Center. Max length of trailers in parade is 40 Foot.

If a city official, an official from the Junior League or a police officer tells you are out of the parade… YOU ARE OUT OF THE PARADE. If a float vehicle breaks down, it will be diverted to the nearest side street. Please contact the closest Police Officer to advise LPD Command.

Do not throw candy or other items from the floats to those in the audience, nor may someone walking beside the float give any handouts of any sort. Keep pace with the float ahead of you. If you have marching groups do not stop and perform. Ensure all members on the floats are fastened in securely in some fashion.

Do not allow anyone to ride in the bed of a pickup truck or like vehicle that has a gooseneck or fifth wheel. When turning the vehicle it may causes injury to those in the bed. Do not allow anyone to sit by a generator that is running. The lack of oxygen may cause injury. Turn your headlights off. If you cannot turn your headlights off then you must provide some type of coverage so the lights do not shine in the other drivers or spectators eyes. NO EXCEPTIONS…

Please keep 10-20’ between all floats so that the film crew can capture your entire float. The film crew is set up on the east side of the fire station. Please keep hydrated and watch to avoid trip hazards.

GATES closing at NOON on the Lemon St side. All access will be off of Lime Street. Drop offs will most likely be making u-turns and back out to Sikes or Lake Beulah. Access will be more restricted this year as the afternoon progresses. Do not expect to drive in float areas after 5pm. You will be told to walk. Tow vehicles will remove any vehicle in the float area after 5pm. Once float movement starts and the road is shut down, if you are late, you are late and will be walking – please communicate this to your participants so they don’t get mad at us for not allowing them vehicular access. YOUNG KIDS DROP OFF – 10 and under has been a problem in the past. Parents will need to park and walk them in after 5pm.

A parking pass is required for floats and vehicles in the float area no unauthorized vehicles will be allowed. All other vehicles are required to park in designated parking areas such as north of Lime or south of the Lakeland Center. When off loading your floats please do so with safety and thoughts of others in mind. DO NOT leave your vehicle parked by your float or in the float area. This causes a traffic flow problem and vehicles will be TOWED. Please park your vehicles in designated parking lots.
