2. Have you donated to United Way yet? Student Council representatives have collection buckets all around the school for the 2014 United Way donations. Your donations assist many agencies in our community including the Christian Service Center and Family Promise.

3. The Christian Service Center provides funds for Emergency Aid. People can go to the center and get immediate help with their financial needs. Family Promise provide temporary shelter, related services and nurturing support to families as they work to achieve and sustain independence.

4. All sophomores will be taking the ACT PLAN on Wednesday. The test will begin at 8:15 and will last 140 minutes. You will receive a 5-10 minute break between test 2 and 3 so please remember to bring a snack with you to the testing sight.

5. Wednesday is Unity Day, a day where we Unite Against Bullying. Peer Helpers want to encourage everyone to wear an orange shirt (it does not have to have a collar) and help stamp out bullying. For more information, visit www.pacer.org/bullying.

6. Please make plans to attend the Foley Theatre Company's Foley's Follies tonight in the cafeteria. Doors open at 5:30. Show starts at 6pm. There is no admission charge.

7. Attention Mr. and Miss FHS Pageant contestants, there will be a mandatory meeting Thursday immediately after school in Mrs. Styron's Room 803.

8. Halloween is right around the corner and that means it is time for Boo Lu’s Field of Fears! The Haunted House will be held on October 23 rd, 24 th, and 25 th, 30 th, 31 st, and November 1 from 6:30- 9:30. This year it will be located behind the school on the baseball field. Admission is $5 and all proceeds will benefit the Band and Fine Art Departments. (continued)

9. Volunteers to dress up and scare on Friday and Saturday are needed. Students can receive community service hours for this event. Sign up with Mrs. Terri Smith in room 706.

10. FBLA and FCCLA field trip money for the Birmingham Joint Leadership Conference is due on Wednesday by 3 pm.

11. Youth Task Force applications are due to Ms. Carver by Friday. Drop them off to her in the main front office.

12. Attention Seniors: Balfour senior wearables will be distributed AFTER SCHOOL on Wednesday in the cafeteria. No items will be distributed during class time. If you purchased these items when you placed your Balfour order, then make every effort to be at the cafeteria at 3:10 pm on Wednesday for pick up.

13. The Lady Pride Homerun Club is hosting a fundraiser on Friday at 2:30 pm at the Foley High Softball field where the Police and Fire Departments will be playing each other in a softball game. Concessions will be sold during the game. Admission is $2 and tickets will be on sale Wednesday-Friday during all lunch waves.
