What is Trigonometry? Trigonometry is a branch of mathematicians that studies triangles and the relationships between their sides. This evolved as a branch of studies but extended for astronomical studies. Trigonometry basics are often taught in schools as a course or a pre calculus course.
3
When/Wheredid trigonometry originate?
Trigonometry is associated with astronomers and mathematicians. The name came from a man of the name B. Pitiscus witch is trigons (triangles). Ancient greeks introduced tragicomic functions.
4
Is one mathematician responsible? Or many?
Some people credited with the creation of trigonometry are Isaac Newton- gravity James Stirling- architect Leonhard Euler- Swiss mathematician
5
World applications Digital imaging-it takes sound waves of trigonometry to help the computer understand. Architecture-important for getting the curvature of buildings. Navigation-when pilots take off from air[orts they need to know the angle you go. Astronomy-used to calculate the distance between stars.
6
3 triginomic functions. Sine (sin)- opposite/hopotenuse
Cosine (cos)- adjacent/hopotenuse Tangent (tan)- opposite/adjacent Cotangent (cot(cotan or cotg or ctg or ctn)- adjacent/opposite Secant (sec)- hypotenuse/adjacent Cosecant (csc or cosec)- hypotenuse/opposite They are related because they uses the same ratios. They also sound the same.

Ideas! MAKE FOOD! You can bake an item and relate it to trigonometry in some way.
9
Unit Circle… The unit circle incorporates the sin, tan, and cos ratios into certain quadrants of a circle. Circles and triangles are related because they both use functions and ratios to find the solution.
