About the AMP Is faculty owned and driven Reflects the SUNY and The College at Oneonta strategic plans Advances teaching, learning and scholarship Provides a 30,000 foot view of Oneonta's academic community States the key elements and values of the college's academic community Provides guideposts for refining and updating academic programs Is an internal communication tool that assists other divisions in supporting the Division of Academic Affairs Is an external communication tool for fundraising and for attracting external partners Academic Master Plan

AMP Phase 1 Desired outcomes create a strategic vision for the Division of Academic Affairs that will advance teaching, learning and scholarship define the key elements and core values of our academic community and culture fully engage faculty, students, staff, etc in the Master Plan process be 100% inclusive by providing opportunities for all campus community members and constituencies to participate in and provide input into the AMP process be transparent by making all AMP Task Force meetings, events, and documents open and available complete Phase 1 no later than December 2012 Academic Master Plan

AMP Phase 2 Desired outcomes create a strategic vision for the Division of Academic Affairs that will advance teaching, learning and scholarship building upon the findings of Phase 1 specify how we create and develop each of the key elements and core values identified during Phase 1 fully engage the campus community (faculty, students, staff, etc) in the process of developing an Academic Master Plan continue to be 100% inclusive so that all participate have the opportunity to provide input into the AMP process be transparent by making all AMP Task Force meetings and documents open and available to stakeholders complete Phase 2 by May 2013 Academic Master Plan

AMP Phase 3 Desired outcomes create a strategic vision for the Division of Academic Affairs that will advance teaching, learning and scholarship evaluate how successful we creating and fostering each of the key elements of our academic community and culture fully engage our campus community in the process of evaluating the Academic Master Plan be 100% inclusive by providing opportunities for all to participate in and provide input into the AMP assessment process be transparent by making all AMP Task Force meetings and documents open and available to stakeholders complete Phase 3 by May 2014 Academic Master Plan

Phase 1 Activities Formation of AMP Task Force (Fall 2011) Gathering input from community about core values (Spring 2012) – Online surveys – Open forums – Meetings of individuals and groups Initial draft of the AMP Core Value Document (Summer 2012) Gathering input from academic community about AMP initial draft (early Fall 2012) Completion of Phase 1 (December 2012) Academic Master Plan

Initial Information Gathering (Survey) Currently being tested on random sample from the campus community Results evaluated at upcoming AMP meeting Roll out to entire campus community within 4 weeks Academic Master Plan

Conclusions This a defining moment Opportunity to define academics at Oneonta Opportunity to refocus back on academics However, faculty must engage in the process …it is our responsibility Academic Master Plan
