2. What is a Colony?
A body of people who settle far from home but maintain ties with their homeland.
Think of it as an apartment. You live in a place owned by someone else.

After years of people traveling across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe. The “New World” had a large enough population to start a colony.
The colonies were spread up and down the east coast of what is part of the United States of America, today!
