Your options after GCSEs A Levels Apprenticeship Vocational course (BTEC Diploma) Vocational course (BTEC Diploma)

ECS offers wide range of A levels, and some Level 3 BTECs. L3 BTECs provide tariff points and are acceptable for many university courses- often preferred for certain courses because of the practical element of the syllabus (Sometimes have to be combined with A Levels).

Traineeships = An education and training programme to prepare for an apprenticeship or work for students aged 16-24 Last 6weeks to 6 months High quality work placement For those without English & Maths GCSE at grade C – will deliver these Subsistence and travel allowance

Experience gained: Job seeking skills Searching & applying for jobs Completing application forms Building a CV Write a cover letter Interview skills Employability skills Basic administration work Customer and communication skills

Apprenticeships – some myths You can only do them in a few types of job Apprentices are all paid the same and it’s not much You don’t need any qualifications to become an apprentice Apprenticeships are low-skilled and lead to low-paid jobs

In an apprenticeship you can: Earn a salary Learn specific job skills Gain a variety of transferable skills Work towards nationally recognised qualifications Progress in to HE Advance in your chosen career
