4 Living in Big Cities Although many people like to live in small cities, I prefer to live in big cities for three reasons. First of all, social life in big cities is active. For example, I can communicate with different people and different cultures. Second, big cities have a lot of facilities which make life easier. For instance, it is easy to find hospitals, go to universities, schools and government offices. Third, living in big cities is very helpful and useful especially in finding jobs. This is because there are a lot of companies that require employees. To conclude, living in big cities is beneficial in having perfect social life, enjoying good facilities and finding good jobs.

5 Why Cities Grew Bigger! In recent decades, cities have grown so large that now about 50% of the Earth's population lives in urban areas. There are several reasons for this occurrence. First, the increasing industrialization of the 19 th century resulted in creating many factory jobs, which were located in cities. These jobs, with their promise of a better material life, attracted many people from rural areas. Second, there were many schools established to educate the children of the new factory workers. The promise of a better education persuaded many families to move to the cities. Finally, as the cities grew, people established places of entertainment and culture such as sports stadiums, theaters, and museums. For many people, these facilities made city life appear more interesting than life on the farm, and therefore took them away from rural communities.
