Our Role as School Counselors Meet with students and families for a broad range of reasons including: academic planning, schedule changes, schedule errors, post-secondary planning, personal issues, etc.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS 23.5 TOTAL CREDITS MINIMUM 4.0 ENGLISH 3.0 MATH 0.5 HEALTH 3.0 SCIENCE 3.0 SOCIAL STUDIES 1.5 PE 8.5 ELECTIVES ** Starting with the Class of 2017, Graduation requirements will include successful completion of a state mandated Civics exam. 4 YEAR UNIVERSITIES *3.0 SCIENCE *3.0 - 4.0 MATH SOME REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF TWO YEARS OF A WORLD LANGUAGE.

Post-Secondary Admission Requirements 4 yr – ACT/SAT, GPA, Class Rank, possible Essay 2 yr – ACT Technical School –ACT or GPA – program specific Military – ASVAB ***If you are eligible for free/reduced lunch, you are also eligible for other fee waivers

GPA=GRADE POINT AVERAGE A= 4.00D+= 1.33 A- = 3.67D= 1.00 B+= 3.33D-= 0.67 B = 3.00F= 0.00 B-= 2.67 C+= 2.33 C= 2.00 C-= 1.67

CLASS RANK EACH SEMESTER YOUR GPA IS CALCULATED AND YOUR CUMULATIVE GPA IS ALSO CALCULATED. THIS GPA IS THEN COMPARED TO ALL STUDENTS IN YOUR GRADE AND THIS DETERMINES YOUR RANK.

TESTING INFORMATION 9 th &10 th Grades– Required ACT Aspire, May 11-12 11 th Grade- PSAT *recommended for top 20% of Class 11 th Grade- ACT/SAT required for university admission. *ACT state mandatory test in March at MHS 11 th & 12 th Grades- ASVAB required for Military, recommended for career exploration

Advanced Placement Exams Cost: $92.00 Credits translated to UW-System: UWHELP.WISCONSIN.EDU Test Dates and Information: apcentral.collegeboard.com It is highly recommended that students planning to attend post-secondary education to take at least one AP course before graduation.
