course objectives Research and Methods Demonstrate an understanding of the difference between information gathering and empirical research Develop the ability to survey, critique and synthesize the literature related to people and the environment Identify a topic of interest and formulate researchable questions Learn how and when to use various research strategies and tools for data collection Develop an understanding of ethical issues related to human subjects and the role of the researcher
