3. warm up: Instructions: Rewrite the following sentences placing the participial phrases where they should b e placed. 1.Carl served me a malt dressed in his new uniform. 2. We found our cat walking home from school. 3. I was stung by a bee pruning my trees.

4. Notebook check !!!!! Take out your binders and have your binders ready to find the items I ask for. If I ask you to write your name on the list you are required to attend a morning tutoring to receive organization help. I will expect you on Thursday morning no later than 7:05

6. Computer Time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get a computer Log into your google account. Find my wiki and download the Participles change the color worksheet. Share it with me ONLY when you are finished Jenniferm.louis@cms.k12.nc.us Complete the worksheet- ask questions when needed

7. Research Paper- source evaluations Have your sources out and find the source evaluations on my wiki. You must fill in one of these evaluations for each source you have chosen. Once your personal evaluations are completed then share it with your partner to evaluate. When you both evaluate the sources- print them out and bring them to class(come after school and print them out in my classroom- or go to the media center if you do not have a printer.)

8. R&J with Figurative Language We will read R & J for figurative language. How does it affect the meaning of the work? Identify different uses for figurative language in the work.

9. Act I Quiz Absolutely no talking or communicating. You may use your study guide to help you. When finished, Complete your vocabulary lesson.

10. Closure 3, 2, 1 Write three things you learned about poetry today. Write two examples of figurative language usage in R&J Write one question you still have about poetry.
