They believed that the Nile rose out of the ground between two mountains but, they had no idea why the river Nile flooded each year, or why it sometimes failed to flood. This piece had been thrown into the Nile and had been eaten by a great fish. All her powers could not bring Osiris to life again. Isis broke down and cried.
