3 ●MacArthur declared Manila an open city ●3:2 Japanese to American/ Filipino ●MacArthur secretly left the Philippines by orders of FDR o Wainwright in charge ●May 6, 1942

4 Bataan Death March ●resistance against the Japanese in Bataan and Corregidor lasted only three months ●60,000- 80,000 American- Filipino POW ●about 60-70 miles ●Bataan to Balanga
