premonition (noun) Definition: strong feeling that something is going to happen; a hunch Example: Alisha had a premonition that her science fair project would not win an award.

disoriented (adjective)
Definition: confused or feeling lost. Example: After Felicia became disoriented in her walk through the woods, she was happy to find a ranger.

imperative (adjective)
Definition: urgently necessary or extremely important Example: Even though Peter and Melea are rehearsing for the school play, it is imperative that they turn in all past-due assignments today.

haphazard (adjective)
Definition: careless and disorganized Example: Because Josh had placed the trophies on the table haphazardly, some were given to the wrong people.

remorse (noun) Definition: deep regret or feeling sorry for something done wrong in the past Example: When he thought about how he had ignored the new student, Jonathan felt remorse.

recede (verb) Definition: to go back, move away from a point or withdraw. Example: The ocean tide recedes in the afternoon.

Definition: hopeful and positive. Example: Jeremy’s parents are optimistic about buying a new house soon.
